Welcome to Batavia Wrestling

Batavia High School has competed in the sport of wrestling since 1957.  Wrestling is a no cut sport and offers athletes regardless of size or experience the opportunity to learn from experienced and dedicated coaches and become a part of a very special sporting fraternity..  We field Varsity, JV, and Freshmen boys teams, and more recently, have built one of the most successful girls teams in the state.  Wrestlers have carried the lessons learned on the mat to future success at all levels of collegiate wrestling and have excelled academically and professionally after leaving Batavia High.

The sport of wrestling teaches young men and women to live the right way: to be hard-working and disciplined, to be humble, to be thankful for the opportunities in their lives, to sacrifice for the good of themselves and for their teammates, to hold themselves personally accountable for results, to be healthy, to become tough and resilient, to set goals and work tirelessly to achieve them, TO PROVERBIALLY STARE DOWN ADVERSITY, ATTACK IT HEAD-ON, WRESTLE IT TO THE GROUND AND DEFEAT IT. This is what becoming a wrestler is.
